Welcome to the Northumberland Bat Group Website. Northumberland Bat Group is a group of people dedicated to the conservation of bats in the UK and particularly, in the historic county of Northumberland. bat group logo

The Group’s operational area is the current boundary of Northumberland, Newcastle Upon Tyne and North Tyneside. All bats, and their roosts, are protected by law on an international level (even if the bats are not in the roost at any point of the year!), we aim to assist people to keep within the law and encourage a greater understanding of these amazing animals.

If you have bats in your property, please tell us about it and read this document. If you have an emergency or general problem involving a bat or bat roost, please contact the Natural England Bat Advice Line on 0845 1300228. If unmanned, please leave a message, it will be responded to as soon as possible.

ut will be able to contact local, licensed volunteers who can come to help should they be needed to assist. This service is free and provided to help you keep within the law.
