Bats and the law

Baby PipistrelleBats are some of the most protected creatures in Britain, and with good reason. They have undergone the most catastrophic decline in the last century and need all the help they can get.  Bats are very long-lived animals (smallest bats live 10-15 years, larger bats can live to be over 40) but with each bat producing less than one baby bat per year, any damage to a local bat population is quite possibly something it will take decades to recover from.

ALL BATS ARE PROTECTED BY CRIMINAL LAW.
If you break the law you could be arrested, fined and imprisoned.
